It is with great sadness that we farewell our beloved friend and team member, Dr Joanna Cooper who, after a valiant battle with cancer, passed away peacefully on Friday 26th March, 2021.
Dr Cooper joined us in May, 2018, after returning to NSW from Adelaide, where she had been practicing since graduation. Dr Angus Steventon, Dr Heidi Knorr and Dr Joanna Cooper first met in the late 1990s while studying together at Macquarie University.
After joining our work family Joanna took no time at all to make her mark on each patient and staff member she came in contact with. Her quirky sense of humour, exceeding generosity and overwhelming kindness helped her forge beautiful connections with everyone. Her deep knowledge in the area of integrated medicine was of great benefit to her patients and she built up thriving practices in Wyong and West Gosford with startling rapidity.
It’s rare to meet someone as engaging and warm as Joanna. She was quick to open her heart to those who she met, and after even five minutes you couldn’t help but feel that you had been firm friends for years.
Joanna started with CCSCC at about the same time as Chiropractor Dr Lotte Hansen, Podiatrist Ellie Kelly and our team members Jaime, Danielle and Kate. Her loss will be especially felt by those who worked closely with her as she developed her Central Coast practice.
Our hearts go out to Joanna’s son and daughter, her mother and father, brother and sister, and all her friends and family. We will all greatly miss you, Jo.
